Permission to visit the Project
Permission to visit Jaaluni must be obtained from the Office
of the Adviser for the Conservation of the Environment in
the Diwan of Royal Court, Muscat. Since the number of
visitors is controlled you should not be surprised if
permission is not granted, especially when short notice is
given.
Jaaluni (Field HQ, Arabian Oryx Project)
Jaaluni is the home of the Arabian
Oryx Project and is located in Haylat Jaaluni at the heart
of the Sanctuary. It consists of a primary and a secondary
camp. The main camp consisting of porta-cabins for
accommodation, offices and laboratory, is a working camp and
the home of the Project staff. The secondary camp is
situated on high ground and used for education groups from
schools and Universities. One porta-cabin acts as an
information centre.
